Accreditation Specialists manage the progress of selected health department applicants through the accreditation or Pathways process, which includes reviewing materials and documentation submitted online, coordinating logistics, serving as a technical resource, attending site visits across the country, and communicating between key stakeholders. Accreditation Specialists work extensively with employees from Tribal, local, state, and territorial public health departments to provide technical assistance as the health departments move through the accreditation process. They also work closely with public health professionals that have been trained as volunteer reviewers for the accreditation process. The Accreditation Specialist is part of the review team and is responsible for ensuring that the reviews and reports are accurate and clear.<\/p>\n

The Communications and Public Affairs Specialist’s main responsibility will be to support and execute the strategic communications plan and communication activities as outlined in the PHAB Strategic Plan and Business Plan to extend the reach, influence, and impact of PHAB and its program and services, including national accreditation.<\/p>\n

The Communications and Public Affairs Specialist, under the direction of the Assistant Director of the Communications and Public Affairs unit (CPA), will work collaboratively to implement an impactful communications plan and support public affairs efforts of the organization. The Communications and Public Affairs Specialist will be directly involved in the development and execution of all the organization\u2019s communications, including, but not limited to, earned, digital, and social media; website, content, and management; writing and editing of issue papers, reports, blog posts, op-eds, press statements, and other materials. The Communications and Public Affairs Specialist is expected to remain current on evolving policies and practices in governmental public health and closely related fields and use this knowledge to recommend strategies and develop content that advances PHAB’s goals and mission.<\/p>\n

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, general ledger management, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and playing a key role in the effective utilization of federal grant funds through developing and managing reporting capabilities in Sage Intacct\u2019s accounting platform. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall financial health of the organization by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing GAAP financial and grant financial reports, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will participate in the equity-based strategic goals of the unit to meet PHAB\u2019s organizational strategic priorities.<\/p>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Senior Grants Specialist, Finance<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

The Senior Grants Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of public and private grants activities for the organization. This position works under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer of the Finance Unit. Additionally, this position works with Program leadership to manage grant performance and to ensure that grants are maximized.<\/p>\n

The Senior Grants Specialist will work under general supervision to administer and facilitate the grant preparation and submission process for the organization. They will advise and assist department heads with grant process and compliance issues related to funding agency regulations and standards; ensures adherence to administrative, fiscal, and accounting policies and procedures related to grant proposals.<\/p>\n

The Senior Grants Specialist will participate in the equity-based strategic goals of the unit to meet PHAB\u2019s organizational strategic priorities.<\/p>\n
