PHAB has many initiatives that advance public health practice and feed into the national accreditation and Pathways Recognition programs.

Public Health National Center for Innovations (PHNCI)

Innovation is critical to public health transformation. PHNCI is a division of PHAB that works to identify, foster, and share health department innovations in public health practice. Through many projects focused on data modernization, workforce, and public health frameworks, PHNCI empowers health departments to drive change and improve health.

Center for School Health Innovation & Quality

PHAB incubates the Center for School Health Innovation & Quality whose purpose is to reinvent school health and school nursing practice to better serve all students, with a special focus on students facing inequities.

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Antiracism (IDEA)

Equity is central to public health practice and is infused throughout the Standards & Measures, the Foundational Public Health Services framework, and centered in the 10 Essential Public Health Services. While PHAB has always had a commitment to equity, we continue to deepen our efforts in this area.

Center for Sharing Public Health Services

The Center for Sharing Public Health Services provides access to tools, techniques, expertise and resources that support better collaboration and sharing across jurisdictional boundaries. PHAB and the CSPHS will be working over the next year to migrate content and stand-up new programming, growing PHAB’s capacity in service sharing.
