We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, general ledger management, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and playing a key role in the effective utilization of federal grant funds through developing and managing reporting capabilities in Sage Intacct’s accounting platform. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall financial health of the organization by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing GAAP financial and grant financial reports, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will participate in the equity-based strategic goals of the unit to meet PHAB’s organizational strategic priorities.

The Senior Grants Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of public and private grants activities for the organization. This position works under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer of the Finance Unit. Additionally, this position works with Program leadership to manage grant performance and to ensure that grants are maximized.

The Senior Grants Specialist will work under general supervision to administer and facilitate the grant preparation and submission process for the organization. They will advise and assist department heads with grant process and compliance issues related to funding agency regulations and standards; ensures adherence to administrative, fiscal, and accounting policies and procedures related to grant proposals.

The Senior Grants Specialist will participate in the equity-based strategic goals of the unit to meet PHAB’s organizational strategic priorities.

Request for Proposals (RFP)

On behalf of the Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG) National Partners (ASTHO, PHAB, and NNPHI), NNPHI has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the development of a Tribal Implementation Center, a part of the new Public Health Data Modernization Implementation Center Program. The Tribal Implementation Center will be dedicated to supporting Tribes and Tribal-serving organizations with their data modernization efforts while ensuring culturally-appropriate approaches that respect indigenous values and Tribal data sovereignty. Site Visitor Opportunities

Special call for Site Visitors: Accreditation and Vital records/Health Statistics
The PHAB Accreditation and Pathways Recognition programs rely on volunteer reviewers and site visitors to assess documentation and conduct peer reviews. Reviewers and site visitors gain valuable networking opportunities with public health leaders, in-depth information about the accreditation process, and have the chance to improve the public health field.

Site Visitors Generally Will Have the Following

  • At least five years of professional public health experience in a Tribal, state, local, territorial governmental, or Military Installation Department of Public Health (preferred) or vital records/health statistics experience (state level); and 
  • Leadership or management experience as demonstrated by supervisory responsibility for one or more programs; and 

  • A baccalaureate or higher degree.

Applicants ineligible to serve as Site Visitors:

  • Current staff of organizations or associations that provide accreditation technical assistance to health departments to prepare for accreditation.
  • Current Federal Employees (with exception to current Military Installation Department of Public Health employees).
  • Current Robert Wood Johnson Foundation employees.
  • Members of the PHAB Board of Directors or Accreditation Committee.
